Classes We Offer
This is a gentle class for those who are new to yoga or those who would like to explore the the connection between the breath and postures. This class moves at a manageable pace, so you can progress safely in your practice. Students will be introduced to yoga postures through step-by-step verbal description and demonstration. Emphasis is placed on student understanding, safety, and stability within each pose. This class gradually increases practice depth by exploring how you are feeling and what you are perceiving during each yoga posture.
This class offers a challenge through the quick flow between postures, while building heat, endurance, flexibility, strength and concentration. Vinyasa (which translates to “flowing with breath”) is a dynamic style of Hatha yoga which combining yoga poses with inhales and exhales, creating a steady internal rhythm for the practice. Our flow classes use creative sequences involving sun salutations, standing and seated postures, back bending, arm balancing, and a strong focus on the power of breath awareness. You will surely enjoy this fun challenging class.
Go Slow with Rahini Yoga® Flow
This class includes gentle postures, breathing, relaxation, and Rahini Yoga® Flows to increase the range of motion of major joints. This class also include some functional strengthening postures and functional core work, and will flow slowly through sun salutations and postures designed to slowly build internal heat. Meditation and breathing techniques (pranayama) are taught to promote relaxation. Class concludes with restorative yoga postures which settle the body and mind. This class is also appropriate for seniors, those who may have certain injuries, or for students who simply prefer to move at a slower pace. Individualized instruction and modifications are given to accommodate students.
Go In With Yin
Yin Yoga targets the connective tissues, such as the ligaments, bones, joints and energetic channels of the meridians. "Go in with Yin" is a perfect complement to the dynamic and muscular (yang) styles of yoga that emphasize internal heat, and the lengthening and contracting of our muscles. Yin Yoga generally targets the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine. One big difference noticed by students of Yin Yoga is the long-held, passive nature of the posture, which gives time for a deeper journey to unfold and explore the meditative aspects of yoga. Poses can be supported with numerous props for comfort and depth.
This practice combines the best of Vinyasa and Yin Yoga. We will begin with a refreshing yoga flow which will emphasize synchronizing breath and movement. Next, we will transition into a quiet, meditative, floor-based practice where you will find more mobility and flexibility in your joints by safely holding poses, and stretching the deep connective tissue. This practice is perfect for anyone who wants to bring more freedom and flexibility to their hips, pelvis, hamstrings and spine.
